Houses X Artists (2002)

The Bellevue Art Museum hired me to create nine audio kiosks for a show they were having. They wanted the kiosks to be small, simple and battery powered. The solution was to build a small circuit board with a digital chip recorder controlled by a PIC microcontroler. On the surface of the box are two buttons and depending on which button is pressed, one of two recordings are played. One kiosk was placed next to each artist in the shows work and was programmed to play recorded commentary about the artist. The metal boxes were fabricated by Thomas Matthiesen.
